Offensive

"We're not going to go out and over-pay to fill our defensive spot."
--Kevin Lowe

I had originally come up with this chart as an addendum to Matt's post from last night. In light of the Pronger trade, and speculation that Lowe may indeed dip into the RFA market, it should be helpful to all. Feel free to comment in any of those posts. Matt and I will find you.

*RFA Signing
**Philadelphia also signed Lars Johnson, out of Sweden, to a one-year deal.

Comments:

I have to think the whole RFA signing thing is a pipe dream. It just doesn't happen.

I agree. Sadly, of course.

It is a small comfort to see that the Flames are paying more for Zyuzin than they would be if they had kept Commodore.

(pedant) $15.2 / 2 = $7.6 for Lidstrom (/pedant)

Duh. Me slow.

All fixed. Gracias.

Well, it may simply be the stage of grief where I attempt to negotiate and expect that Lowe somehow does something to mitigate this disasterous trade.
