Nut Graph

Flames fans with heart conditions, who are pregnant, or who upset easily should avoid looking at this graph.

Every one else should prepare themselves for the fact that sooner or later -- and at this rate, I'll say "sooner" -- something's gotta give.

Comments:

Wow. That's......disturbing.

Maybe we should delete this post and pretend we never saw it. We'll ruin all hopes of fleecing some team in a trade.

Sigh.

I don't know, Kipper plays in too few games a season for the results of each season to be statistically significant. Right?

Best of luck to the Flames this season.

Matt, you must post the loser parody from 960 before the oilers spokes-boob makes it go poof.

What a beautiful graph!

Yet the talking heads in Toronto can't stop talking about how Kippers play has turned the Flames season around.

Yet I'm getting Flames fans telling me he should win the Vezina ...

Not any sane ones, James. People were talking about Nabokov winning last year when he was 23rd in save percentage, simply based on wins. Kiprusoff winning would be at least as bad. That aside, if you look at the media stories chronicling the Flames' turn around after the S.J. game in November, nearly all of them mention Kiprusoff's "improved play" or some variation thereof, with precious little evidence other than the W-L numbers. He's been better, certainly, but even the numbers after mid-November are average at best.

In the period mentioned, Kiprusoff is 10th amongst qualifying goalies with a 2.38 goals against average and 11th with a .915 save percentage. Not even close to being Vezina worthy, especially after you add his early numbers, but a good notch above "average at best"

I guess Kipper read the post today

Any thoughts on why? I thought elite goalies just didn't do this... or do they?

They do when they've got bad hips!

"Any thoughts on why? I thought elite goalies just didn't do this... or do they?"

Kipper is not a elite goalie. He was the backup before coming to clagary. Much like the oilers Garon, he played well for a short time, but now is basicaly a good enough golie.

So you're saying you don't agree with Randy Sportak?

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

You do know how to keep us Oilers fans happy (as we await the arrival of Jagr ;) )
