It's a BoA weekend, time for a drinking game!
I'll let Matt and Sacamano throw out the prognostications for this weekend's back-to-back, home-and-home Battle of Alberta extravaganza. Me, I just want to get people happy. So, in that vein, this weekend, when watching the Flames versus the Oilers, take a pull from the bottle when:
Kipper gives up a ten foot rebound
Pisani wins a faceoff
Phaneuf hides from a fight
Stortini hugs somebody
Regehr hits Hemsky from behind
Staios makes a defensive error
Bertuzzi takes a dumb penalty
Moreau finishes the game healthy
Iginla takes a shot
Gagner gets a point
Keenan grimaces and tosses an ice chip in his mouth
MacT crosses his arms and shakes his head
Stock fumbles a line
Milbury calls someone lazy/terrible/overrated
MacLean drops a pun
Principe drops a pun
And if that doesn't get you smashed enough for your liking:
Every time someone says "Battle of Alberta," "Glory days" and "icing called."
That should do the trick. Have a great weekend, everyone. If you print this off (nay, when!) and head out to a Boston Pizza, house party, or even Pengrowth and Literally. Crush. this weekend, please be safe. And don't drink and drive. Smytty would not approve. GOILERS!!!
***Bonus Round***
One long drink in honour of our comrade, Pleasure Motors/DMFB/Dave Berry. Can be done at any point this weekend.

Comments:
take a swig whenever:
- MacTavish mixes up the lines
- Grebeshkov gets an assist
- Cammalleri scores a goal
- after every scrum
- whenever somebody chatters but doesn't fight
- you spot an Oilers retro jersey
- MacIntyre pounds in Vandermeer's face
- Strudwick can't keep it in at the point
- Phaneuf shoots it wide
- Cogliano beats a defenseman
- Lombardi beats a defenseman
- somebody refers to the good old days of the rivalry, as if the two teams weren't still in the same province
- last but not least, take a swig whenever somebody takes a swig
I'm a little fuzzy on the concept - is the intention to get people happily buzzed or in the hospital with alcohol poisoning? :)
...I must go out and buy beer. Now.
Take a swig whenever:
- Debrusk metions the "quickest legs in hockey".
- Souray takes a shot from the blueline.
- The Oilers lose a faceoff.
- Ales Hemsky does something stupidly brilliant with the puck.
- Rowbert breaks up an odd-man rush.
- Curtis Glencurtis tags an Oiler with a big hit.
- Bertuzzi assaults someone.
- Craig Conroy winds up on the powerplay (for Kent W.).
I'm an Oiler fan living in San Francisco, and I'm horrified to discover that Center ice is not broadcasting any Oilers games on Saturdays. I looked at the Center ice schedule through October, and not a single Saturday game was included. CBCSports.ca only streams games for people north of the 49, does anybody know how i can see the BoA this Saturday?
I don't want to have to move back to freezing Edmonton...
- Craig Conroy winds up on the powerplay (for Kent W.).
Kent would likely have drank when this happens anyways. But I'm sure he appreciates the thought.
hey, edmontonians !!! i've invaded your territory wearing red and wondering if anyone wants to suggest a good pub to play this drinking game ???
also on the hunt for tickets to tomorrow night's tilt... is there a reliable after-market kinda scalpy type place ? or do i have to try my hand on craigslist or by standing beside the drumming guy outside rexall ??
"Oilers lose a faceoff"
So everyone will be watching tomorrow's game from their hospital beds with the rehydrating IVs in their arms?
Oh boy this is awesome. I'll be watching this game down at Boston Pizza, and will definitely have to walk there due to the amount I'll be forced to consume during this drinking game.

Given the original ideas posted by Grabia, yeah. I'd say that's the point.

we'll leave a pair of tickets, under a rock, in the middle of the Whitemud. GOOD LUCK!
The Center Ice package offered through Direct TV does show the Oilers games on Saturday nights, but the inDemand version of the package (a third party contracted by Comcast here in Boston) does not. inDemand hasn't yet responded to my email asking for an explanation. Your alternative on Saturdays is to find a sports bar with the Direct TV package. Sucks watching the game on one teevee in the corner with no audio in the corner, but wha'tcha gonna do.

Hbomb's right, I drink by default when this happens. Kinda like the Toby Petersen thing for you guys a couple seasons back.
does anybody know how i can see the BoA this Saturday?

Most games are streamed online.

Alcohol wasn't doing it for me when this was happening.
By the time Toby signed with the Stars, I had one freakish coke habbit to kick.
FYI. Campus EARL's is just across the street from the hospital and they have a great setup to watch a game.
You could probably phone ahead to the emerg in the second intermission and reserve a spot. With this drinking game, it looks like that'll be the place for the after-game party.
for everyone forced to live down south, tomorrows game will be live on HNIC on NHL Network (you will have to order it separate from center ice i think)
With this drinking game, it looks like that'll be the place for the after-game party.
This is my breakdown of probable events:
• Kipper gives up a ten foot rebound (7)
• Pisani wins a faceoff (2)
• Phaneuf hides from a fight (2)
• Stortini hugs somebody (2)
• Regehr hits Hemsky from behind (2)
• Staios makes a defensive error (6)
• Bertuzzi takes a dumb penalty (3)
• Moreau finishes the game healthy (0)
• Iginla takes a shot (5)
• Gagner gets a point (2)
• Keenan grimaces and tosses an ice chip in his mouth (4)
• MacT crosses his arms and shakes his head (6)
• Stock fumbles a line (6)
• Milbury calls someone lazy/terrible/overrated (3)
• MacLean drops a pun (1)
• Principe drops a pun (∞)
Hmm. Maybe this was too much, even though I did only say "take a pull."
