Friday Baseball Standings

First things first: happy March 14th to all the fellas. Next, was I a bit hasty in throwing dirt on the Coyotes last Friday? Maybe! Tomorrow Phoenix is home to the Oil, while the Canucks play in Dallas, and then they play each other again on Monday in Vancouver. Opportunity knocks.

The East teams presently below the line are left to hope for a free fall by the Bruins or Flyers (or in Washington's case, the Hurricanes as well). It's enough for some faint hope, but that's all it is. Have a good weekend.

I don't get this "steak and a blowjob day" thing. March 14 is already Pi Day. What more do they want?

Since it matters for such things as draft position, it should be mentioned that the Eastern Conference is 6 full games behind the West. Thus for example, Edmonton (read: Anaheim's pick) is in a virtual dead heat with not just Chicago but also with Toronto and Florida.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but Detroit has clinched their division (and the playoff spot that comes with it).

Of course, they are the only team in their conference that is playoff bound.
