Woot

Busy today, and busy tomorrow, but:
Go Flames.

Comments:

there's no doubt conroy is worth more than 1-1.5/yr but i think he's made it pretty clear he was miserable outside cowtown... my hunch is he'd sign for less, but would he sign for less without a NTC ??? the ference trade set a heinous precedent for that, i'm afraid....

I would guess Conroy is a well kept secret outside of the Flames closest rivals. None of his counting numbers are impressive and he isn't getting any younger. If he really wants to stay in Calgary, I think he'll take a reasonably cheap dollar figure to do so (because I honestly doubt he'll be getting any big "can't refuse" offers).

Phaneuf has been pretty damn stellar since the contract extension. Also...no Eriksson = a plus night for Dion. Hmmm...

Cujo is getting the start. A little worried now.

I was worried before...

Did...did Macguire just suggest that Ryder is an offensive UPGRADE over Tanguay?? AFTER suggesting that Tanguay would be a good fit in Montreal because he would ADD OFFENSE??

Holy shit. That claim isn't even internally valid.

I think the TSN trade panel should be renamed "How to upgrade other teams at the expense of the Calgary Flames", because most of the shit they suggest only makes sense if you're blatantly cheering for the Flames to fail.

This just in: Curtis Joseph is not a very good goaltender anymore. He totally whiffed on that goal.

+1 for you. Excellent.

On the other hand, blatantly cheering for the Flames to fail is all that does make sense.

By the way, it was a good game tonight and the Flames played hard and scored a well-earned victory. But you know why they won, didn't they? The elusive Double Big Goal: shorthanded and at the beginning of a period. That, my friends, was the reason for victory.

Yes! Nothing swings the momentum (that's a whole other beef) like a shorthanded goal, which is why Dallas scored on the very same powerplay. Or something!

All this hockey talk is great, but what about the proposed Edmonton arena?

Edmonton's getting an arena?

About time. I was there in November and I was crushed by the people. Literally so.

Plus they should build it downtown to take care of the zombie crack hobos.

With public money.

The end.

And I am drunk.
