I'll tell you how Jesus feels: great.
It's Christmas AND the Flames are winning?
AND on the road?
AND they won a shootout?
AND they scored 6-on-5 with Kipper pulled for the first time in ??? (at least the 05/06 season)
AND my boy Lupes scored 6 points tonight? (and he's only in his 3rd full year!)

Comments:
It's amazing how great of a player Lupul is when he's got a supporting cast, and not people bringing him down.
That was the most exciting game I've listened to in a long time, even though the first 58 minutes were pretty dull.
We're finally getting to see the real Kiprusoff, and he is stunning. It's interesting that his rise has coincided with a rise in the shots he's been facing recently. I really don't know what to think about that (except that it will help clean up his save % pretty quick).
Jesus must be happy. His favourite sons, San Fernando and HORCOFF!!!, pulled the Oil out of yet another fire.
At this rate, HORCOFF!!! may develop a healing touch of his own by the All-Star Game.
Andy, glad you asked. It's probably my favourite Christmas episode ever of a TV series.
[Bill has built a Santa's village in his front yard]
Peggy Hill: It looks like a carnival. I wonder how Jesus feels about this.
Hank: It's Christmas AND Bill's happy. I'll tell you how Jesus feels: great.
Well I don't know how Jesus feels, but I'd guess that Hockey Jesus feels great, he did have 2 goals and 1 assist tonight for the Springfield Falcons.
Plus his NHL club came from behind 4 times to send the game into OT where they once again won in the SO.
Whine about the SO all you want Falmes fans, but you've got 5 loser points and less wins than the Oil.
Wins-Losses
Oilers: 14-18
Falmes: 13-18
Goilers!
chrissyt: Subtract shootout wins (which, as any hockey fan will tell you, is the real record of a team for where it matters most):
Oilers: 9-18
Flames: 12-18
Both are sad, but one's a lot worse than the other.
Subtract shootout wins (which, as any hockey fan will tell you, is the real record of a team for where it matters most):
Strange: no matter how I squint at the standings, the shootout wins don't go away. It's almost as if the league is counting them as wins. It's crazy! I know!
Strange: no matter how I squint at the standings, the points earned from OT losses don't go away. It's almost as if the league is counting them the same as points from wins. Crazy, I know!
This reminds me of when Andy boasted that the Oilers weren't going to the playoffs and the Flames were. The capacity for deluded rationalization found in the average Oilers fan astounds me.
I think if a team is 8-1, they are completely entitled to count shootout wins as regular wins.
Whatever I think about the shootout (hate it!), that is some strong positive non-regulation mojo the Oilers have.
Fuck Lupul.
We've got Pitkanen.
That's all I've got to say about that. Finding a soft, one-dimensional RW to munch the soft-minutes is a lot easier to do than to find a d-man with Pitkanen's world-class upside.
Besides, I saw enough of Lupul to know he's not a guy I'd want on my side to go to war with. Goodbye and good riddance.
When was the last time 1/3 of the Oiler games went to OT?
Oh right. I think there was a Game 7 that year....
hbomb: Pitkanen? Really?
7 points in 19 games Pitkanen?
As a side note, when did TSN.ca downgrade Pitkanen's career outlook from "franchise defenseman" to "No. 2 Defenseman"?
This reminds me of when Andy boasted that the Oilers weren't going to the playoffs and the Flames were.
Huh? So I'm delusional because I know how shitty my team is? I'm confused. I suppose I was supposed to predict a President's Trophy and a Stanley Cup?

I'll take Pitkanen over Lupul any day of the week. He got six points in the Eastern Conference, after doing piss all for six weeks. Here's his game logs.
