If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am now

A 6-0-0 road trip. That's absurd. Ab-surd. Not only is Calgary in a playoff spot, they're clear of 9th by a game and a half.

Go Flames.

Comments:

An amazing game by Kipper. He's got a couple of stunning saves on the highlight reels tonight.

I wish I could go to the Dallas game. The Saddledome is going to be rowdy come Friday.

Go Flames indeed. 6 in a row on a single road trip is some sort of NHL record. The Flames are not only ina playoff spot 6 weeks ahead of Matt's mosy optimistic expectation, they are comfortably there and can actually drop a game or two. Not that they will or anything, but it is good to have a teeny bit of breathing room.

I expect 4 shootout wins in a row would also have been some sort of NHL record, but some elvin chap named Cantscorcoff missed the goal by a foot or two in the shootout.

Bwa ha ha

Go Flames.

The Flames wish they had a center as good as Shawn Horcoff. Plain and simple.

Name all the deficiencies you want about the Edmonton Oilers, but that man is not one of 'em.

Humm...I'd say Langkow and Horcoff are comparable this season, given that they have comparable stats. Just a thought.

I say that in general, Langkow is the better player and the stats historically bear this out as well.

The glove save Kipper made in the 3rd was the best save I think I've seen him make this season. He really seems to be rounding into form.

Phaneuf still didn't look great, however. I wonder if he's hurt or something. He just looks slower and much more tentative out there.

I don't disagree, but from watching both this season, I'd give Horcoff a slight edge in terms of overall performance, and given the age difference (Horcoff's almsot exactly 2 years younger), I know which one I'd take if I could have either/or for my hockey team.

No argument at this point against the fact that both are among the best 30 centers in the league. So that makes them #1 centers, right?

Maybe not according to guys like Garrioch....it's odd, we're well overdue for one of those Jokinen or Marleau to Calgary rumors. Or maybe the Rangers want to get rid of Gomez already.....stupid eastern media.

The colour guy on the radio last night made an interesting comment about Regehr. He said he was able to play his game better because Sarich was playing so well positionally. Begin able to count on Sarich to make safe plays means Regehr can do what he does best: cream people.

I think Phaneuf is facing the opposite effect: by playing with a partner he can't count on, he is forced into a role that isn't his natural, instinctive position, and he is suffering for it. Once Warrener is back from injury and Phaneuf gets paired with Aucoin again, I think we'll see Phaneuf snap back to form.

Interesting point. I hope you're right.
