X + Wild = ZZZZ

Covered In Oil and Lowetide have tonight's game against the Wild covered.

Comments:

You know, I think the "Wild are a boring defensive team" description is getting to be just about as inaccurate as "The Oilers are a Young team" (injuries and forced trades aside).

I actually like watching the Wild these days -- they've got some wheels.

Well, I fall asleep watching these two teams play, so it's a pretty accurate description for me. If the Wild get a lead, watch them shut it down.

The Wild are classic Lemaire material. They play the trap perfectly, and yet it's way more exciting than post-Lemaire New Jersey, because it relies entirely on the "wheels" described by Sacamano. Guys like Elias and Gaborik are given free reign to wheel and deal as soon as the opponent makes a mistake. Until then, they are as watertight as a submarine. Brilliant!

I still think that Lemaire is one of the best coaches ever, even if his trap is the worst thing ever to happen to hockey!

Clever post title.

I should have said, "X + Y(ild)=ZZZ

3-0 already. Nighty night, Oilers fans.

If 4 goals in 25 minutes is "shutting it down", I'd hate to see them try to pile on.

It's the ZERO goals the other way that matter, Sac. Unless you are cheering for the Wild, that is. Care to share?

Aren't the Oilers like the second youngest team in the NHL/WHA?

I dunno, the 1978 Birmingham Bulls might give them a run for their money. Over to you, LT.
