Allan Maki Gets Feisty
And so he should.
"It's almost vomit-inducing to think that with all the problems confronting our nation, with our troops dying in Afghanistan and sick people waiting for hours to be treated at hospitals, Shane Doan's captaincy is a hot-topic issue for a bunch of politicos who should know better . . . That's sad; that's sick."
Comments:
bunch of politicos who should know better
Doesn't the fact that they are politicos mean that they intuitively don't know any better? Or am I being too cynical?
Insert obvious comment about the discovery of Utopia here.
Isn't there some sort of statute of limitations on how long the same rumour can be used against a person?
This is why they should get rid of the instigator rule. I'd love to see Boogaard get into Layton's grill.
In the mean time, real news is being totally ignored. Not that this is a huge surprise. Cogliano has signed a 3 year deal with the Oil.

I heard that Tommy Salo's wife once kept a rumor going for 8 years.
I totally agree as I posted yesterday http://sportsguru.eclecticblogs.ca/2007/05/sports_and_politics_butt_heads.html

The Stanley Cup is ours!!!
I bet you he doesn't play 200 NHL games.
Yeah, I'll take that bet too.
The kid can skate and he can think - worse case he is a useful PK guy and 3rd/4th liner I think.
I don't think he's going to be a big star but his skill set lends itself to a pro career a la Todd Marchant at least I think.
Grabia: I like Trukhno better as a prospect, but Cogliano is as much a sure thing as anyone in the Oilers system now (assuming that we can count Pouliot as a graduate).
Cogliano can bat anywhere in the order, has a good glove and has terrific foot speed.
I bet he hits 200 NHL games before Schremp.
I bow to LT and RiversQ's analysis, but the few times I've seen him, I've been unimpressed. He is lightning fast, but he's soft on the puck, and he didn't have any hands. To be honest, he reminded me of Todd Marchant, which is fine, but I won't be wetting my pants tonight thinking about him in an Oilers uni.
"What the constituents in my riding are saying is they'd like to put the politicians in the penalty box, so Team Canada can put the puck in the net," said Tory MP Pierre Poilievre.
Pfffft....
God I hope that picture is meant as a joke and not really you...P>S Oilers will suck for years to come

Ahh, I miss Rico Fata... but not really.
