Madness In Ontario

Check out the Battle of Ontario tonight, folks. A brawl in one game, Kerry Fraser in the other. I'd be all over seeing or hearing that entire Sens/Sabres game. Anyone know how I might do that?

Here's a clip, thanks to Indrew over at BOO.

Here's the hit that started it all.

Comments:

I can't believe the Sens let Peters go after Emery like that. I would have jumped over the boards on that one, reprecussions be damned.

That's the awesomest thing I've seen in a while. I was reminded of that Simpsons episode wiht "Here come the pretzels!"

Peters jumping in was fucking amazing. God bless the NHL!

Google video has full games up a week or two after the fact... if you are patient.

Awesome. Thanx Indrew. Now if only I could hear Jeanneret.

Peters jumping in was fucking amazing.

Entertaining, maybe, but bullshit. Looks like there were some fights in the Flames game, too.

The thing I dislike about the original hit is that he comes from the blindside. There is no elbow, but it is still sorta from behind.

Original hit video's gone. But yeah, if I'm a Senator, and Peters jumps my goalie, my coach is gonna have to put a full nelson on me, and bye-bye penalty-minute record.

Typical Lindy Ruff hockey!

He was a pussy when he played and things haven't changed.

I agree it was ridiculous that Peters went after a goalie, but dude, Emery was smiling the whole time. The guy can hold his own.

True, which is probably why they just let it happen. But Heatley, Comrie and Spezza were on the ice, along with Phillips and someone else. Buffalo had sent out their goons, on purpose. If the league doesn't suspend Ruff for that, guys will be jumping over the boards soon.

Damn, that second clip is down. Kinger???? :)

The Senators proved once again that they are more suited to girls hockey than the NHL. Emery mans-up on Biron, gets jumped by Peters, and not one gutless Senator bails him out. What a collection of one-eyed, Euro-floating, back-passing playoff-losing wankers. Makes me want to cheer for the Leafs to make the playoffs just so they can take out the Sens, and I hate the Leafs.

Yeah: but what about the hit?

Was it cheap?

It was legal but a bit ugly. The kind of thing that would get any team/team's fans riled up if it happened to their captain.

I wish I could find a clip of Ray Emery of the Binghampton Senators leaping into a fight (literally) against the Philadelphia Phantoms a couple seasons back. He got suspended for about a grillion games. It was awesome.

(Given that I think he's going to sign elsewhere after July 1, if Ottawa offers, say, Patrick Eaves and Emery for Ryan Smyth, I giggle in glee.)

Except Emery's a boxer (or at very least a fan). He's got George Chuvalo painted on his mask, and Tyson, Haglar, and Jack Johnson on previous masks. He's been waiting for this night his whole life.

Wow, idiot.

It's funny because there was only one Euro on the ice when it happened (Volchenkov), and he fought and won.

Emery was the only known fighter on the ice at the time for the Sens, and he was loving every minute of it. Honestly, if a player would've stepped in to break it up, Emery wouldn't of been happy, and all the players know it. Those hits by Peters didn't phase him at all. He'd do it every game if he could.

I'd want someone to step in if it were Gerber, but not Raaaaay.

I posted the hit video again Andy.

Phillips showed a lot of restraint in not pounding on Kaleta for his shit considering he had him pinned down rather quickly.

Saturday night's game should be interesting.

Emery feeding Josh Gratton is here Lord B.

(Gratton fight card for reference)

As for Peters, he was previously known to me as the golf swing guy (which was kind of funny 'cause it was the Leafs).

Awesome. I re-embedded it. Thanks.
