Oilers Game Day-Sharks

I'm swamped today, so this will be short. The Oil looked pretty good against the Kings. Everything was clicking. Course, it was the Kings. San Jose is a different beast. A much nastier and uglier beast. So we'll see how it goes. My boy Brad Gilbert got called up, which is good news. Rotating 8 or 9 defencemen all year may not be a bad idea, especially if we are unable to make a trade. I'd do it, and send a forward down to make room on the roster. To replace that forward, I'd throw Staois or MAB up on a wing every few games. But I'm a risk-taker.

Matt has some awesome shit on the 5-3 below. If he's on, that's some pretty valuable information. Make sure and check it out. Also, look for an announcement on this site later on today. Hopefully Matt won't bump it down with his ginormous spreadsheet images.

Prediction: 6-4, Oilers. Pisani with all six goals.

Comments:

Brad Gilbert? Is he better than Tom?

Only six? I call Pisani with *all ten*.

Brad Gilbert? Is he better than Tom?

Waay better.

I screwed up the name in a post ages ago, LT, and Mirtle nailed me with it. Ever since I've called him Brad. I actually French up the last name, too, like the Gilbert in Gilbert Perreault.

End result: a powerful force for hockey good.

P.S. Fantastic looking site, Ben.

Word is that Staios missed practice this morning with the flu and might not go tonight.

Would leave Hejda, Greene, Roy and Gilbert in the starting lineup.

Yikes.

P.S. Fantastic looking site, Ben.

Thank you, sir.

Would leave Hejda, Greene, Roy and Gilbert in the starting lineup.

That can't be right. Smith, MAB and Shaggy would make seven.

Grabia:

No to Tjarnqvist. His groin is injured, which is the Tjits for the Oilers.

So, we will likely see:

Smith Hejda
Bergeron Roy
Greene Gilbert

Man, where the hell have I been?

The Oil seem to be in the Sharks heads since sometime around that triple overtime goal in Game 3. I expect them to win this one by about 10-2.

Go Sharks anyway.

kudos to sweatyo for Tjits. That just might be glossary-worthy.

Agreed.

SCORES!

Bergy early. 1-0.

Just as I'm leaving, 2-0 Oil. Go Roy!

Geez, the Vaunt has returned.

For now.

3-1. Keep er up, boys!

Is this game online anywhere? I don't have a Tonton to get around, so I can't leave my house.

Oh, and I don't have a box at home to pay for it.

End to end Jim.

Three times.

Started behind the Oilers' net, went coast to coast, didn't like the lay of the land, skated back to his own end, did it again and this time topshelf.

Or maybe a shot from the blueline through a screen.

More rookies on D! Four is not enough!

Tonton? Lone Ranger?

Grabia! Not making this BOA but next season I turn 40 and I need someone to squire me around when I make the pilgrimage to celebrate - can I rely on you?

Food. Oilers. Beer.

What say you?

I like this new strategy of scoring a lot on the powerplay.

There would be no greater honor that I have ever received for anything I've done.

"Engineering degree...FUCK THAT! BOA glossary baby!"

Seriously, I'm surprised no one beat me to that use of the Tj combination.

Uh, yeah.

I like this new strategy of scoring a lot on the powerplay.

It involves playing the Sharks as much as humanly possible. In two games, 5 goals on a whopping 19 chances.

Tauntaun.

I don't get out much...

Shit. I'm slipping. That's embarassing.

How about Hejda and Bergeron eating up the big minutes on D!

I think you gotta be a little cocky to wear 77 on D in you first game. That French kid, Brad, may be a keeper. Though his D could use a little work.

I'm still not convinced that I should like Roy. Any thoughts?

I didn't see the game last night, but Roy has looked fine to me. Couple of letdowns, but nothing major. You can' blame him for being out against the Nuck sin OT. That's all on Huddy and MacT.
