Flames Game Day
The 2nd half of the Flames' season starts tonight at the Pepsi Center against the Avs (7PM MT, RSN West). They've only played each other once so far this season, which means 7 CGY-COL games in the second half, including the makeup game from the Snow Day, which appears to be scheduled for the last day of the season. In fact, after tonight they don't play again until February 15, meaning 6 of the Flames' final 25 games are vs. the Avs.
Since the beginning of last season, this has been a real homer's series. In the 5 games at the Dome, Calgary has 10 points to Colorado's zero, and has outscored them 22-11. In the 4 games in Denver, Colorado has 7 points to Calgary's 2, outscoring them 19-9; the only road blood drawn was one Flames shootout win behind the heroics of M. Phillippe Sauve.
A Tale of Three Halves, Flames Edition:
Besides J-M Liles, former Flame Jordan Leopold is out with the groin injury he suffered a mere 5 games after a longer-than-expected convalescence from hernia surgery. I'm looking for Tanguay to rub it in tonight in a 3-1 Win (Tanguay x2, Huselius). Go Flames.

Go Flames!
Hahaha. Just kidding.
I hate your stupid team.
(There aren't nearly enough taunts on this blog anymore).
I hope the Wild win 3-1 tonight over the Canucks.
And that the Omaha Knights continue their winning ways and clobber the Avalanche (weather permitting)
Go Knights. Go Flames.
I got the two garbage, sleep inducing Northwest Canadian teams mixed up; the Canucks are facing the Wild this evening, not the Flames. So in that case...
3-1 Avs
Flames suck.
Granted, if seeing lots of scoring and prize winning fights puts you to sleep, the Flames are probably not the kind of team you like.
Low scoring teams, .500 teams like the Vaunt on the other hand ....
Go Flames.

That's actually true. Thanks for straightening us out.
And speaking of, where the hell are Cosh and Tyler? We were like the Justice League of Taunts. With Cosh as Wonder Woman, of course.
Cosh as Wonder Woman is easily the most scarring image that this website has given me. Good work Andy!
Jesus Christ, what the fuck is wrong with the Avalanche? The one time I want them to win, and they shit themselves at every opportunity?
At least it won't go into OT. /sigh
Cosh is no Wonder Woman, more like her sidekick, Etta Candy :
"a spirited, rotund girl who leads a sorority at fictional Holiday College and who frequently aids Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in her adventures. She is known for her moxie, her love for candy, and for her trademark call "Woo! Woo!"
Speaking of "Woo Woo", no need to tune into Roger Millions tonight, Mr tothebank, the high scoring Flames have 5 goals through a period and a half and have chased Colorado's good goalie. Etta Candy is singing.
With the Canucks trailing the Wild, this could be a great night all around!
Go Flames!!
No doubt. The Oil will be coming off another tough loss at home to the Wild, and will be desperate to turn it around; the Flames will want to step on their necks at home before a tough week.

The Oil will be pushing for four in a row, after man-handling the Girls Gone Wild. The Flames will begin the slide that is a six game losing streak.
7 goals for the Flames certainly looks like the end of the world to me - I took a look at overall trends, and it's not like Calgary's loading up with lots of great scoring opportunities:
