Together at last

Bwaaaa-ha-ha-ha:
Sources tell TSN the Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to announce the signing of veteran centre Mike Peca on Tuesday.

Peca has agreed to a one-year, 2.5-million dollar contract.

This is the same Maple Leafs that only had $750k for Eric Lindros, right? Whatever. Welcome to 14th place, Toronto fans.

Comments:

Finally something we can all agree on!!!

I love TSN. See how well they glossed over how shitty he was for the entire regular season? Toronto Sports Network, you guys are the best!

Man you guys are bitter...

What they didn't gloss over was the fact that we get him for nearly half the price of what you paid for him last year.

Still too much? Maybe.
If we're able to sneak into to the playoffs much like your Oilers did then it could pay off.

Man you guys are bitter...

Bitter? I'm ecstatic!!! And Matt is a Flames fan, but even he thinks it's funny that the Leafs signed him. Course, he would have laughed harder if we had signed him.

What they didn't gloss over was the fact that we get him for nearly half the price of what you paid for him last year.

We paid him 4 million and got almost nothing in return? Really? Shocker.

You'll be begging for Allison and Lindros by the 20th game.

I'm guessing that you didn't watch Allison play last year?
I'd beg Gilmour to come back before I asked him.

A two time Selke trophy winner who has the tendancy to pick it up in the playoffs.
Compared to what the Leafs tried last year with Allison/Lindros, this signing doesn't seem like that big of a risk to me.

I guess we'll find out soon enough.

>>who has the tendency to pick it up in the playoffs

Yeah, so, good luck with that. (Raycroft can get the Leafs there, then Peca can take them home!)

And to think I was cheering on both of your teams in the two previous Stanley Cup finals...

Now who's bitter one?

I'm guessing that you didn't watch Allison play last year?

I'm guessing you didn't watch Peca.

Peca may have floated, but Allison directly contributed to the other team's score.

That, and I've seen Peca score on a shootout. That's one up on Allison.
