"That weasel snagged the 'bee!"

Ever seen PCU? Funny little movie; it came to mind reading about this triple-header between the Canucks and the Oilers.

"This is Port Chester's biggest sporting event, Tom: the Hippie Olympics. Nobody wins, 'cause they're all losers." - Rand McPherson

Comments:

I'll ignore your little jibe, and note that this movie rules because:

a) anything with Jeremy Piven in it rules

b) it has those great passwords to get into the conservative fraternity: Who is the greatest president of all time? Ronal Reagan. Who killed Jesus? The Jewwwwssss.

So many people haven't seen this beaut, and it is such a shame. It may be Piven's finest work, outside of Entourage of course.

Let's hug it out, bitch.

It rules because:

C) if you ever have the occasion to slip "Earth to tall bitch!" into conversation, I highly recommend it

B) the whole Starland Vocal Band thing, cranked inside a locked cabinet in a locked room, is some brilliant psychological torture

A) it has George Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars playing a house party

Also, "Don't be that guy" is a terrific guiding principle I still carry with me.

Droz: "What is this? You're going to wear the shirt of the band you're going to see? Don't be that guy."

I also just got a chuckle out of the image of you sitting on your couch was DVD Season 2 of Ellen.

NOT that there's anything wrong with that.

Actually, Matt, if we could get you to put "Sweatin' to the Oldies" on pause for a second, I'd like to point out that Season Two of Ellen is the well-known confirming case of the Piven Principle. When the show struggled out of the gate he was brought in as part of a format change, and until the Anne Heche Years Ellen was one of the best things on TV. Surprising but true.

I drop the term "causeheads" quite a bit, too. God, that movie really does rule.

And I still hate ABC for cancelling Cupid.

3rd best Piven role? Mark the drunk guy in Say Anything.

Your only mistake is that you didn't dump her first. Diane Court is a show pony. You need a stallion, my friend. Walk with us and you walk tall.

Womenist to Sam: "You dated a white man?"

I love how on the commentary on the DVD Piven rips the director.

Piven was awesome in the Seinfeld episode where he was auditioning for the role of "George" in the pilot Jerry and George were shooting.
