Strange Headline Dept.

Flames Olympians come up clean in drug testing - main page.

I know Berard tested positive yesterday, but isn't this a dog-bites-man story? Also, the sense of relief conveyed by such a headline is kind of, weird -- it seems more suited for a family blog, where Mom posts that Kimmy Passed Her Driver's Test!

To that end, he has stopped using a shampoo that contains an agent called propecia, which stops hair loss.

"I have been having conversations with the trainers because I have been using this shampoo to keep my hair growing and there are so many unknown substances in the shampoo that I can't use it anymore," said Leopold.

Who does he think he is, Samson?

The Oilers had a story on their website about Ryan Smyth going to an old lady's birthday party and letting her pet him.

Moral? Team websites essentially are family blogs, and thus appropriate for stories such as this. As is the Edmonton media.

C'mon. That picture of Ryan Smyth and the old lady went over like a Beatles reunion here. Even the Calgary guys kinda dug it. Knowing Matt, he was probably actively jealous. All punching his pillow and muttering "Stupid old lady..."

Obviously, though, the full headline today should have been:

Fans Raising Funds To Buy Nandrolone, Stanozolol For $7M Man

How can you guys be joking at a time like this? Don't you know that the world is going to end on Monday? I mean, I don't want to take things beyond the limits of reasonable discourse, but women-hating, gay-bashing,money-worshipping, American-loving devils from Alberta are about to take over Canada!!! It is the return of the Dark Ages, a time before 1982 when minorities were regularly dragged down the streets of Calgary and Edmonton. There are crosses burning on lawns all around Red Deer as we speak! As we speak!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!

Oh, you guys are from Alberta? Oh, well I love you guys. No really, I do. I have my Flames/Oilers split jersey in my closet at home.

I am a very, very, very, big fan of this blog. Very.

Hey, why did we quit with the minority draggings, anyway? Those were great!

Heh, anonymous captures the sentiment in the Greater Toronto Area quite nicely. It's odd being a Westerner here in election times.
