  2. Hey, did you guys hear that the Leafs are struggling this year? I just heard that. I had no idea. Came from out of nowhere, that bombshell.

  3. If HNIC's broadcast of the Habs/pens game is any indication, brace yourselves for 6-8 weeks of MalkinMalkinMalkinMalkinMalkinMalkin...

  4. Who is this "Malkin" fellow? Does he play for the Leafs? Is he related to Crosby?

  5. I'll take "Who plays on a line with The Crosby" for $400 Alex.

  7. So, Fletcher's the GM of the Leaves again, eh?

Man, I heard about this band Soundgarden, haven't heard any of their inital stuff but they have this new disc called "Badmotorfinger" and I can't wait to listen to it!!

  8. I'm cheering hard for the Leafs to eventually hire Glenn Healy as their general manager, since we all know Fletcher's not going to stick

Mostly because I hate the Leafs.

  9. I'm watching TSN tonight just to see people ask Healy about it. I haven't been this excited about a television event since JR was shot on Dallas.

  10. I heard that Glenn Healy might be a candidate for GM? Or maybe Doug Gilmore?

    Bwa ha ha ha.

  11. Crosbalkin.

My theory is they end up with some retread like Neil Smith — because at least he has 'experience.'

  12. See what happens when a GM runs his team into the ground with foolish trades and signings. The public outcry was to much for the Leafs brass to handle. What I don't understand is how Kevin Lowe is still running the ship in Edmonton. He has made even stupider moves than Ferguson for 3 times as long!!! Whats the matter with you Oiler fans? How long will you take it up the ass???

A SCF appearance would prove this wrong. It's also what's given him a long leash, along with a (mostly) mild media posse in this city. Seeing the Ferguson firing, though, did make me wonder what would have to happen in this city for KLowe to lose his job. I honestly don't have an answer.

I don't know. Did those puppies win 5 Stanley Cups?

  16. Does anybody remember the Cleveland Cavaliers (in the 70s or 80s) trading away about 12 years worth of future draft picks, and still sucking so bad, that the league had to step in?
That's the point the Leafs are at right now.

  17. Granted the SCF did help out alot. I think though that the run the Oilers had that year was one which no-one expected or dreamed possible. So Lowe using that as a bargaining chip seems weak and should not be used when looking at his over-all performance as a GM. Personally, I want to see him gone, Edmonton as a franchise has suffered cause of his comments and stabs on former players. I suspect that a big reason that Edmonton has went from a desired place to play to the opposite has alot to do with Mr Lowe. Get rid of him, and since ex-oilers are so loved and respected, bring in Messier or something. Come on, start the pitch. If Ferguson can go, so can Lowe!!!
    Unless you like him?
