"The midget hooker story? Oh, yeah, absolutely true. Definitely. It was about 8 a.m., I think, and hotel security called up mine and Kidder (Trevor Kidd)'s room and the guy said 'There's a couple of midget hookers down here. Do you want us to send them up?' "

Midget hookers, eh?
ReplyDeletePerfect height for old Theo.
I question the veracity of that story.
ReplyDeleteThere's no way Fleury was in his hotel room at 8 a.m.
best player ever....

I know it's wrong but I don't care:
ReplyDeleteI always had a soft spot for Fleury:)

I find it perfectly believable. Of course, he probably only got in at 6, but whatever.
But I have to agree with Dennis: he was a grade-A pain in the ass, but you had to admire his tenacity. I loved to hate him as a kid.
A *great* player. One of the reasons the Tank patrons hated him so much is that he scored the first (and still only) shorthanded hat-trick in NHL history there.

Other than Game 6 in 91, I always loved him too. Great damn hockey player.
